Does ETH Wallet use Ethereum Mainnet?

Yes. It is designed for Ethereum Mainnet, which uses chain ID 1.

Do I need MetaMask or another extension?

No. This wallet can generate, import and sign with its bundled local cryptography library. It still needs network connectivity to read and broadcast blockchain data.

What does Connect wallet mean?

It opens an existing account inside this application, using your private key, recovery phrase or encrypted keystore. It does not connect a separate browser extension.

Can one recovery phrase control several addresses?

Yes. A hierarchical recovery phrase can derive multiple addresses. The current import opens the default Ethereum address rather than presenting a list of derivation paths.

Why do token balances sometimes appear late?

Token discovery and history rely on indexing services, which can lag or become temporarily unavailable. Confirm critical activity in an independent block explorer.

Why does sending a token require ETH?

Ethereum network fees are paid in ETH, including when the transferred asset is an ERC-20 token.

What if the network fee is unavailable?

Check your internet connection and try again. Some RPC providers are unavailable in certain regions or browsers. ETH Wallet uses multiple providers and can route requests through a same-site gateway, but service availability is not guaranteed worldwide.

What happens when I close my wallet?

The local saved session is removed from this browser. You must retain your own private-key, recovery-phrase or keystore backup to reconnect later.
